Trump of Clinton? Zo reageren de celebs op Election Day 2016

Nog nooit hebben we de Amerikaanse celebs zo politiek actief gezien als de laatstse weken. Op sociale media roepen ze massaal op om te gaan stemmen én laten veel celebrities hun politieke voorkeur klaar en duidelijk weten. Opvallend? Enorm veel celebs zijn Team Hillary en betuigen hun steun met de hashtag #imwithher.

Raising their voices to be heard. Spitting out the cliff note facts they think they might know. She said he said. Wrong. No. Stop. Enough. We are split. There is no talking to the other side. Either side. Republican or Democrat. Whoever wins there will be half the country holding each other, screaming, crying, packing their bags (if they can) and moving because they may have lost hope in this beautiful country of ours. In the land of the free and home of the brave. Whatever happens tomorrow let us all remember we are living on this pale blue dot in the middle of nowhere and none of us knows what's going on. What I do know is that we should all have at least one responsibility and that is to simply love one another. Simple as that. Let us just try and keep our heads high and grow as a nation and stand strong by each other's side no matter the outcome. Do this in a kind way. A loving way. Not in a I told you so way. No more hatred. No more bigotry. Let us work thru our beautiful and flawed differences. That's all. Thanks for reading.

#Repost @laurenpaul8 with @repostapp ・・・ I proudly voted for Hillary Clinton yesterday. I didn't just vote for her because of what the alternative is. I voted for her because she is the most experienced and qualified candidate. I voted for her because she has spent her entire life working tirelessly to better the lives of children and families. I voted for her because I believe she has a good heart. I believe she will do everything she can to prove to this divided country that she, the first female President of the United States was the right choice. She is a politician. She is not perfect. If we knew every single misstep or hard pressured decision every president or politician has made throughout the course of history, I wonder how harsh the lens would be on her. In 2016, we are flooded with headlines and click bait. It is our right and responsibility to dig deeper, to do our own research and make the best decision we can. I'm posting this because it's on my heart and we all have a right to express ourselves. If you don't agree, or are voting a different way, please don't take this as an attack on you. I respect your right to believe what you believe. This is my truth right now. I hope that by the end of the day tomorrow, we will stand stronger together, sending a message to the world that love and kindness prevails. #imwithher

My fellow Americans. I know we are tired of talking about it. I know that many of us who have made our decision are steadfast in their choice. But for those of you undecided voters. For those of you who are disappointed in these two candidates. For those of you who think it's okay to not participate in this election because you feel that the reality show of American democracy has shot itself in the foot and is slowly limping towards a shallow grave. I ask you: what kind of America you want to live in? Do you want to live in a country that doesn't tell women what to do with their own bodies? An America that is working to protect its environment, find solutions for cleaner energy and to support the plans set forth at the Paris Convention to preserve our planet for the generation of our children and our children's children. Do you want to live in an America that celebrates African American communities for their incredible achievements, their values, and their hard work rather than describing them as dangerous hell holes that have no hope of protecting themselves. What about working towards America that has the right to bear arms but takes that right as a serious responsibility compete with thorough background checks and safety measures in place to make sure that the citizen on citizen gun violence in our country begins to decline rather than continue to rise rapidly. An American were #blacklivesmatter and are protected equally to any other race in this country. An america were police are respected protectors who are vitally connected to their communities not afraid of them. An America that opens its doors to refugees and immigrants as it has always said it would do (since that is woven into the fabric of the foundation of our country). To me. That's the America I see in the years ahead. To me. The best way to achieve that future America is to elect @hillaryclinton to be our first female president. I have made my choice. Please.
